One of the limitations of optimizing wastewater disinfection systems is the long analysis time between sampling and enumeration of pathogens. Utilities are often in the dark about current bacterial concentrations, and disinfection operational changes are made using data that is 18-24 hours in the past. For most systems, bacterial concentrations are difficult to monitor and can spike unexpectedly. This webcast is a review of the current technologies available to get bacterial data more quickly, which can lead to faster reaction times and optimization for disinfection systems.
